Dedham Pottery, its most familiar image a cobalt blue-painted rabbit border on a gray crackle-glaze, has been avidly collected for decades. Prized for its antique look, this hand-painted pottery is a relatively recent production—1891 through 1943. Its antique appearance comes from its glaze, which imitates ancient Asian crackle-glazed pottery. Hugh Cornwall Robertson, the creator of Dedham Pottery, drew his inspiration from Asian ceramics.
