“The Best American Pottery”
House Beautiful Magazine – 1897
Dedham Pottery® is the great achievement of internationally acclaimed master arts and crafts potter Hugh Cornwall Robertson. His genius led him to develop ox blood red, volcanic glazes, and the perfection of an intentional crackled glaze for which Dedham Pottery is so well-known and regarded. The popular Dedham Pottery rabbit trademark and design is loved and revered by many.
Dedham Pottery was produced in Dedham, MA, from 1896 to 1943.
Jim Kaufman is widely recognized as the foremost authority on the history of Dedham Pottery and its current values. Jim has authored numerous magazine and newspaper articles. His lectures feature illustrated presentations on Dedham Pottery for historical societies, museums, and ceramic study societies worldwide.
Jim has helped numerous collectors build new and advanced collections for over three decades as a private dealer. Each piece he offers is authenticated and examined for quality and condition, including fully guaranteed descriptions.

Chelsea Keramic Art Works
Collecting & Research
Chelsea Keramic Art Works is the first American ceramics firm to designate itself as “art pottery.” It was founded in Chelsea, Massachusetts, by members of the Robertson family, who had honed their skills in the ceramics industry in Britain before coming to this country. Chelsea Keramic preceded Dedham Pottery.
I actively collect and research Chelsea Keramic pottery and encourage you to connect with me about pieces you encounter.
